Large capacity drum twister for making LV/MV Cables or MILLIKEN Conductors. Can make cables up to 145 mm diameter. Main components: - 5 x Core pay-offs 2,6 m - 14 Tons capacity - 2 x Taping heads : tangential 4 x 600 mm, separate motor - Caterpillar : 3.000 daN - 3 m, rotating - Take-up : 4 m bobbin - 30 Tons capacity Optionally, for making also steel wire armouring - Central pay-off : 4 m bobbin - 30 T capacity Line includes sector sensing system for prespiralled conductor cabling as well as longitudinal tapers for Milliken. The 5 bobbins on the 5 rotating pay-offs are driven by DC motor, located inside the fork (electrical brake). Caterpillar is with motor inside, for lay-length control without gear box. Caterpillar and take-up are driven by an AC motor. 4 x fork pay-offs are driven by common line shaft, with variable speed pulleys for sector correction. The 5th pay-off 2600 mm was added later and is driven by a separate motor. The central pay-off 4 m is also driven from line shaft.
